The Hustle & Grind

On Wednesday, April 5, Jerry Holden was featured on Inman News, an online Real Estate news publication in “My big break: 7 top producers on the moment that changed it all” by Gill South.

Jerry recalled his “moment” from a deal started before he opened The Holden Agency in 2013. He commented that the the “hustle and grind” attributed to making this $1.4 million deal go through. This sale included finding a buyer for an apartment building and driving 2.5 hours away to find the current owner of the building. Holden knocked on the front door and asked if he would be willing to sell his property and received the reply, “Anything is for sale.”

Facebook Live: The ‘Good Funds’ Law

Join The Holden Agency LIVE as we discuss upcoming changes to the home buying process

On Thursday, April 6, The Holden Agency will be streaming LIVE from Facebook and has invited Chicago Title Agency, Civista Bank, and Huntington Bank to help explain upcoming changes to the home buying process.

Ohio’s “Good Funds” law has been in existence since 1996 and outlines the types of funding appropriate for the down payment of a new home purchase. Recent changes to this law are going into effect this Thursday, April 6, and will modify real estate transactions.

The Holden Agency, with the help of Huntington Bank, Civista Bank and Chicago Title Agency, will help explain these changes and how this process will be different for future home buyers.

The Holden Agency Welcomes Josh Hughes

Josh Hughes joins The Holden Agency team!

Josh is a local graduate of Shelby High School in 1996 and Ohio University in 2000.  He went on to earn his law degree from Michigan State University, graduating in 2003.  Josh practiced at a law firm in Michigan prior to returning to the area.  Since his return, Hughes has taken on leadership roles in the area’s most prominent organizations.  He was a former director with MedCentral Health System and currently leads the human resources and legal functions at Ashland University.  He also serves as the board president for Hospice of North Central Ohio.

Hughes has had a long-standing interest in real estate, which culminated in him obtaining his Realtor’s License after taking coursework with the Ohio Institute of Real Estate Studies.

The Holden Agency Welcomes Peter Peterson

Peter Peterson joins The Holden Agency team!

Peter Peterson is a local graduate of Lucas High School in 1996 and Kent State University in 2000, majoring in Business Management. Following college he came back home to Mansfield to work for the family business, Interstate Batteries. While working for Interstate he began investing in rental properties and became interested in real estate, obtaining his Realtor’s License from Hondros College. He continues to work and grow the family business and build upon their real estate portfolio.

The Holden Agency was honored recently to receive global exposure in RIS Media’s January issue of Real Estate Magazine. Proclaimed as “The Leader in Real Estate Information”, the publication’s “Great Spaces” feature highlights The Holden Agency’s recent listing of a luxurious property on Deer Run Road in Mansfield. The Holden Agency Welcomes Richelle Schunatz

Richelle Schunatz has been added to The Holden Agency’s growing team of agents.  



Richelle (Smart) Schunatz is a lifelong resident of Richland County. Graduating from Plymouth High School, she furthered her education by attending Ashland University (Nutrition and Wellness), North Central State College (Early Childhood Education, Business), and Hondros College (Real Estate). Richelle has a passion for real estate, as an investor herself (along with much of her family). She has been in real estate just shy of 15 years. Richelle owned and operated Clique Boutique, which was opened from 2012-2015, where she made primitive home décor.

Promoting Activity and Teamwork at the NOL-OCC Challenge

The Mansfield area’s premier high school basketball showcase tips off this weekend as the Richland Source NOL-OCC Challenge gets underway Saturday at Shelby High School. The two weekend event is back for a second year, growing this year to feature 24 boys and girls teams from 12 different schools. The Holden Agency is proud to be sponsoring this year’s event and promoting activity and teamwork to our local youth.

RCDG’s 10 Under 40 Awards

This morning marked the 3rd Annual 10 Under 40 Awards from Richland Community Development Group (RCDG) held at the Carriage House at Kingwood Center. We are whole-heartedly humbled and excited that two of our own, Jerry Holden & Jessica Gribben, were recipients of this prestigious award.
